To be a pilgrim or a seeker is to be open to how we are being called forward. Colmcille certainly heard the call of Jesus and responded, day by day?
How does Jesus call?
In the case of the fishermen in Galilee he walked up and said: ‘Come follow me!” They left their nets and followed.
With the woman at the well in Samaria it started with an unexpected request:
In our modern lives, we often experience a divine presence who is trying to communicate with us. We are urged to let go of hurts, to accept the past, to live in the now, and to trust in the future. Intellectually it can be hard to figure out but emotionally it feels like love, freely given and waiting to be received.
Desire: I want to know more about this source of love and compassion in my life. I want to cooperate with this plan for me, that gives meaning and indicates a direction and a way to move forward.
