An Ambitious Project
Slí Cholmcille is an ambitious project to establish a pilgrimage trail linking key sites related to St Colmcille/Columba from Donegal, Derry, the North Sperrins and the Bann to Argyll and eventually the island of Iona.
Slí Cholmcille takes a walker through the most stunning scenery over hills and mountains, around coast and lakes, through villages and towns in the footsteps of one of Ireland’s most important early Christian Saints.

Slí Cholmcille is which offers a plethora an expansive journey of routes, allowing you to make the trail your own. Whether you are walking on your own or with a group, with a family of little ones or are an experienced trekker, with so much to see and do, there are countless opportunities to experience the picturesque northwest of Ireland.
Some of the highlight experiences along the trail include the village of Glencolmcille, where pilgrims can do a round of stations called ‘Turas.’ Another highlight of the trail is an opportunity to experience Tory Island, while Ards Forest Park and Glenveagh National Park are also located along the trail.
